Leading by example: The role of management in LEAN

At KAEFER, our management is fully committed to driving the LEAN Journey. Leaders regularly go to GEMBA – the place where value is created – to connect directly with our teams. By being present, management not only observes processes but also actively coaches and supports our people, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

This hands-on involvement ensures that best practices are shared, challenges are addressed collaboratively, and every team member feels empowered to contribute to our ongoing success.

10+ years of continuous improvement

What began as a pilot in 2013 has grown into a global, company-wide mindset. Through the LEAN Development Programme, several thousand colleagues across more than 20 countries have been trained as Practitioners, Professionals, and Masters.
This network now connects projects and regions, spreads best practices, and helps teams turn ideas into measurable results – making LEAN a lasting part of KAEFER’s DNA.
