During every Venuslauf, there comes a moment when the kilometres stop being individual achievements.
A colleague in Bremen finishes a morning run. A family in Brazil cycles together. In Australia, a team walks after work. Somewhere else, a colleague steps onto a treadmill, picks up a tennis racket or simply takes the first step.
Individually, these moments may seem small. Together, they become something much bigger.
This is the Venuslauf: a global charity event organised by the KAEFER FOUNDATION once a year to support the fight against cancer. Through this event, the KAEFER FOUNDATION, a non-profit organisation, funds initiatives around the world that provide care, counselling and support to people affected by cancer. The special focus in this case are children and their families. In 2026, colleagues, families and friends across the KAEFER Team came together for a cause that reaches far beyond sport.
Sport, solidarity and a shared cause
For some participants, the Venuslauf is part of their regular training. For others, it is their first organised sporting activity in years. Some run hundreds of kilometres, while others walk around the block, cycle with their children or join a local team event.
What makes the event more than a sporting challenge is what happens around the kilometres not only during the set weekend but far beyond. Teams that started training together and kept going. Colleagues who connected across time zones over a shared goal. Conversations that might not otherwise have happened. The Venuslauf creates space for people to motivate one another, share personal stories and celebrate progress – and for many, that space has outlasted the event itself.
Every participation matters, and every contribution counts towards the same goal.
Every kilometre carries a message
Cancer affects people in every country and every community. Many KAEFER colleagues have experienced this personally, either through their own diagnosis, through family members or friends. For some, taking part is a way of remembering someone. For others, it is a way of showing gratitude, strength or hope. For many, it is a practical way to support the KAEFER FOUNDATION and through it, organisations working with patients, families and communities affected by cancer – knowing that a morning walk in Perth, Australia or a team ride in Paris, France translates into something real for people facing one of the hardest experiences of their lives.
This is why the Venuslauf on one hand means something different to everyone and at the same time, exactly the same to all: we care and we want to show our support.

Claudio, HSE Coordinator, Brazil
Every year, the Venuslauf has a permanent place on my calendar. More than a sporting challenge, it is a cause that I strongly identify with. About three months before the event, I begin a dedicated training plan, always with a clear goal in mind. For this edition, my target was 200 km. With every kilometer, I think about the purpose behind the initiative, and that is what motivates me to go further.

Tegan, Communications Manager, United Kingdom
Venuslauf is always a fantastic reminder that we are part of a much bigger team! Its sometimes easy to get caught up with our day jobs and we can forget that we actually have the support of colleagues from across the whole world, not just our local areas. The engagement of our site teams increases every time and seeing the total number of kilometres go up each year is just amazing!

Sandro, COO, Germany
I have been taking part in the Venuslauf for many years and it remains an inspiring global event that brings people together across countries and cultures. I am impressed by the enthusiasm and active participation of all KAEFER countries. It is great to see colleagues supporting one another and contributing to this shared initiative. This strong commitment is a powerful example of our company culture and the spirit of the #KAEFERTeam.

Georgy, Senior IT Engineer, Saudi Arabia
Being a Communication Champion for Saudi Arabia, coordinating the Venuslauf event in our country alongside our HR, welfare, HSE and operations teams is always a deeply encouraging and rewarding experience. Participation has been steadily growing year after year, showing just how much this event sets KAEFER apart from other companies. Despite the challenging weather conditions, many KAEFER employees, along with their families and friends, consistently show up and actively participate in this meaningful charity event. Whether by running, walking, or cycling, we always give our absolute best to contribute our share. The Venuslauf is a powerful reminder that small steps make a real difference, and seeing colleagues from different KAEFER countries unite turns it into a truly inspiring shared international effort.

Nurul, Sales & Marketing Executive, Malaysia
For me, Venuslauf is about bringing our teams across SEA together. Every year from Malaysia to Thailand, Indonesia and Singapore, everyone brings their own flag and culture, but we all support the same cause. I’m really grateful for everyone’s support and energy. That team spirit makes Venuslauf meaningful to me ❤️

Birte, Trainee, Australia
For me, the Venuslauf represents much more than a charity event. Having had the opportunity to support last year’s Venuslauf organisation during my time at the HQ in Bremen, it is wonderful to see the KAEFER team spirit now in Australia. The Venuslauf connects the global KAEFER community and shows what we can achieve. Together, we turn movement into support and contribute towards our shared goal of fighting cancer.
Charity, community and momentum: the lasting impact of the Venuslauf
The Venuslauf 2026 has, once again, shown the strength of the global KAEFER Team. It has shown that participation does not have to be perfect to be valuable. That a few kilometres can be the beginning of a healthier habit. That encouragement can cross borders. And that people who may never meet in person can still contribute to the same goal.
The event is not about being the fastest or going the furthest. It is about showing up, joining in and contributing to something that matters.
One step may not change the world. But thousands of people taking steps together can create real momentum – and the KAEFER Team has proven exactly that. The Venuslauf will be back in September 2027 with another edition! Make sure that you don’t miss it!
